Job summary

Saab AB in East Syracuse, NY seeks a Principal Program Manager to lead profitable development programs in Surveillance. You will oversee cost, schedule, and technical performance, manage budgets, and drive EVMS while pursuing new business with large aerospace/defense customers.

You will work onsite with a team to grow capabilities, partner with Sales and Product Mgmt, and develop talent across the program portfolio. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of Program Management experience in aerospace/defense.
• Experience negotiating multi-million dollar agreements with large customers.
• Track record leading aerospace/defense capture efforts.
• Advanced knowledge of scheduling, cost accounting, EVMS, risk management.
• Ability to drive strategic initiatives.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Cost, schedule and technical performance ownership for programs.
• Establish and control program budgets aligned with needs.
• Ensure projects follow approved PM processes.
• Recommend personnel changes to support objectives.
• Drive EVMS and report program status internally/externally.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with Sales/Product to maintain market knowledge.
• Develop competitive proposals supporting segment objectives.
• Coordinate across design/manufacturing to leverage resources.
• Grow customer relationships and engage primes.
• Provide leadership to program execution staff.
• Mentor junior PMs and develop talent.
