Job summary

Saab AB is seeking a Principal Program Manager to oversee profitable execution of development programs in the Surveillance division, based at our East Syracuse, NY office. The role requires deep experience with large-scale radar systems, EVMS, and strategic growth initiatives across portfolios.

Responsibilities include budgeting, program governance, and leading a team to deliver on time and within cost, while pursuing new business opportunities and building strong customer and partner

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of Program Management experience handling $50M–$100M+ aerospace/defense programs.
• Experience negotiating multi-million dollar agreements with aerospace and defense customers.
• Proven track record leading large aerospace and defense capture efforts.
• Advanced knowledge of program management standards (scheduling, cost accounting, EVMS, risk/opportunity).
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Establish and control program budgets aligned with program needs.
• Ensure all projects are managed within approved program management processes.
• Make personnel recommendations in support of business objectives.
• Drive Earned Value Management principles and use EVMS to report program status.
• Identify and pursue significant new business opportunities.
• Develop high-quality competitive proposals to meet segment objectives.
• Collaborate across functions to leverage resources through design and manufacturing phases.
• Grow relationships with customers and primes to meet needs.
• Provide leadership to program execution staff for high-quality delivery.
• Contribute to development and retention of program management talent.
