Job summary

LMI Government Consulting seeks an experienced Program Manager for a VA suicide prevention and mental health program. You will act as a deputy to the Sr Program Manager, guiding contract operations, client delivery, staffing, and strategic growth across multiple workstreams.

You will lead a diverse team, drive performance management, and coordinate with VA stakeholders, technical teams, and partners to deliver impactful outcomes. The role emphasizes people leadership and strategic execution.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, management, public administration, health administration, information systems, technology, public health, or a related field.
7+ years of program management, project management, operations, consulting, or related experience.
Demonstrated experience as deputy program manager, senior project manager, or operations lead.
Demonstrated people-management experience with multiple roles and levels.
Experience setting performance expectations and coaching staff; addressing issues directly.
Experience with Performance 365 or similar continuous performance management is preferred.
Ability to lead effectively in a matrixed environment and manage multiple workstreams.
Experience in Agile environments and with Jira/Azure DevOps, SharePoint, or related tools.
Strong client-facing communication and relationship-management skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership across contract operations, client delivery, staffing, and strategic priorities.
Independently lead program activities and represent leadership to clients and delivery teams.
Supervise employees across job families and disciplines with varied seniority.
Set clear performance expectations and coach staff; manage development and accountability.
Lead Performance 365 processes including goal setting and reviews.
Address performance concerns directly and document issues as needed.
Coordinate multiple projects to align priorities, resources, and risks.
Develop executive briefings, status reports, and dashboards for VA and LMI leadership.
Build trusted VA stakeholder relationships and translate priorities into actionable plans.
Support Agile delivery using Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid approaches and backlog management.
Ensure compliance with contractual, VA, federal, security, and privacy requirements.
