International Research & Exchanges Board is seeking an Executive Project Director to provide senior U.S.-based strategic, technical, operational, and compliance leadership for an 18-month donor-funded program supporting the free flow of information.

The role requires senior leadership experience, strong understanding of Latin America and the Caribbean, and the ability to manage sensitive, risk-informed work with professionalism and sound judgment. Salary ranges will reflect U.S. market norms.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in donor-funded programs.
• Experience in Latin America and the Caribbean with media freedom and civic space.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (strong writing and briefing skills).
• Ability to manage risk-informed, confidential, sensitive work.
• Strong donor relations and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead program planning, delivery, and day-to-day coordination with staff and consultants.
• Manage donor relations, reporting, risk updates, and evidence products.
• Oversee budget, subgrants, compliance, and financial tracking.
• Provide senior management for dispersed teams across multiple countries.
• Support growth through proposal strategy and opportunity development.
