Job summary

Peninsula Behavioral Health, a division of Covenant Health, is seeking a Senior Psych Social Rehab Counselor for the Recovery Education Center and Peer Support Center in East Tennessee. This full-time role delivers recovery education, supports clients with mental health and substance use disorders, and documents care in the EMR.

The Senior PSR Counselor mentors peers, participates in treatment teams, ensures safety, and collaborates with staff to reach program goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred in related field.
• Six months healthcare experience required (behavioral health preferred).
• Must have CPRS certification or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Valid Tennessee driver’s license with a “P” and/or “F” endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct support in Recovery Education Center and Peer Support Center.
• Mentors new PSR Program Counselors and trains on protocols.
• Works independently while supporting other staff and participating in team meetings.
• Plans ahead, organizes duties and maintains records for billing.
• Completes required paperwork and documents in EMR; participates in safety and quality initiatives.
• Travel locally; may drive company vehicle and transport clients.
