Job summary

VDOT seeks a senior administrator to supervise staff providing analysis and support for the Central Office Infrastructure Investment Division (IID). You will plan, develop, monitor and evaluate complex projects, coordinate with other divisions and districts, and develop data, reports and IT systems to support construction program delivery and the department’s long-term infrastructure and financial goals.

The role requires leading cross-functional teams, managing budgeting and federal funds

Qualifications

• Coordinate activities with multiple stakeholders, resources and objectives.
• Plan, develop and lead the work of professional and technical personnel.
• Experience in transportation planning and/or project management.
• Knowledge of laws, regulations, procedures and policies related to transportation infrastructure.
• Knowledge of budgeting, funding allocation methods and expenditure tracking.
• Document policies and procedures.
• Analyze sizable/substantial data sets to identify problems, develop solutions, forecast and report.
• Use of computers and web-based applications including SharePoint and project management systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team to support IID planning and investment program efforts and coordinate with divisions and districts.
• Oversee financial analysis, reporting and reconciliation in line with state and federal guidelines.
• Support local and statewide program coordination and delivery of projects.
• Coordinate statewide policies and guidance for pre-project development activities with stakeholders.
• Develop and manage funding levels and portfolio impacts across Central Office and districts.
