Gainwell Technologies LLC in the United States seeks a Senior Professional Application Designer to build and maintain high-quality application solutions across server, client, and web components. You will participate in all SDLC phases, design solutions, and collaborate with stakeholders to meet business objectives.

This role emphasizes C, Unix, Linux, SQL/Oracle/SQL Server, system integration, and DevOps practices, with remote work options nationwide.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of programming, application development, and batch programming using C, Unix, and Linux.
• Strong SQL, Oracle, SQL Server, and relational database experience for data querying and structures.
• Experience with system integration, scripting, software development, and SDLC methodologies (Agile and Waterfall).
• Preferred experience with Medicaid IT systems, healthcare systems, and regulatory environments.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, problem solving, root cause analysis, project management, cloud platforms (Azure and AWS), and DevOps/CI/CD practices.

• Develop, maintain, and support high-quality application solutions meeting business and technical requirements.

• Execute change control activities and support successful deployment of enhancements.
• Analyze and resolve technical and functional issues via troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Support and enhance existing C/Unix-based applications and systems ensuring reliability and performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of application quality, development processes, and efficiency.
• Assist in evaluating technical solutions to support project objectives.
• Design, develop, test, document, and maintain application software across server, client, and web components.
• Participate in technical design activities and contribute to architecture components and solution designs.
• Develop functional specs, technical designs, and implementation plans based on project requirements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, test plans, and deployment artifacts for integration and delivery.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, testers, and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support high-quality application solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
• Participate in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and support.
• Execute change control activities and support the successful deployment of application enhancements and system updates.
• Analyze and resolve technical and functional issues through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving.
• Support and enhance existing C/Unix-based applications and systems while ensuring system reliability and performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that enhance application quality, development processes, and operational efficiency.
• Assist in evaluating technical solutions and recommendations to support project and organizational objectives.
• Design, develop, test, document, and maintain application software, including server, client, and web-based components.
• Participate in technical design activities and contribute to the development of application architecture components and solution designs.
• Develop functional specifications, technical designs, and implementation plans based on project requirements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, test plans, and deployment artifacts to support application integration and delivery.
• Collaborate with software developers, analysts, testers, and business stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes for Gainwell and its clients.
• Stay current with development tools, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve technical skills and application delivery capabilities.

Qualifications

• 4+ Years of Programming, Application Development, and Batch Programming Experience Using C, Unix, and Linux
• Strong SQL, Oracle, SQL Server, and Relational Database Experience for Data Querying and Data Structures
• Experience with System Integration, Scripting, Software Development, and SDLC Methodologies (Agile and Waterfall)
• Preferred Experience with Medicaid IT Systems, Healthcare Systems, and Regulatory Environments
• Strong Communication, Stakeholder Management, Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis, Project Management, Cloud Platforms (Azure and AWS), and DevOps/CI/CD Practices

Location & Remote

• Fully remote opportunity with the option to work anywhere within the United States
• Opportunities to travel through your work (0-10%)
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs and travel as required
• Video cameras must be used during all interviews, as well as during the initial week of orientation

Compensation & Benefits

• The pay range for this position is $72,800.00 - $104,000.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
• All salaried, full-time candidates are eligible for our generous, flexible vacation policy, a 401(k) employer match, comprehensive health benefits , and educational assistance.
