Job summary

Trystar in Faribault, MN is looking for a Senior Production Technician to lead a team in daily manufacturing activities and ensure timely, cost‑effective fabrication of components. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the production floor.

You will train team members, manage schedules via Epicor MRP, and work toward KPI targets while maintaining high standards. Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving are essential for success.

Qualifications

• BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or 2 years of leadership experience in manufacturing.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical assembly, and fabrication.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and MRP transactions (Epicor preferred).
• Ability to enforce safety standards and work long shift hours.

Responsibilities

• Production Oversight: Train and lead the production team to achieve targets and quality objectives.
• Utilize Epicor MRP to plan and schedule activities for efficient resource use.
• Follow a comprehensive production schedule based on orders, forecasts and material availability.
• Monitor and train on assembly/fabrication to ensure quality standards.
• Coordinate with maintenance for equipment upkeep and minimum downtime.
• Enforce safety protocols and drive a safe working environment.
• Continuously evaluate processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness; create work instructions.
• Generate production reports and KPIs to identify improvements.
• Foster accountability and empower the production team.
• Cross-train staff to ensure continuous operations and backups.
• Recognize performance that supports company values and customer satisfaction.
• Report to Production Supervisor on department performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory, and People.
• Drive continuous improvement and waste elimination within the department.
• Develop standard work procedures and update them through cross-training.
• Lead regular team meetings and coordinate with support services.
