Job summary

Reliable Safety & Flow Corporation seeks a Molding Supervisor to lead the Foundry Molding area on the shift, ensuring safety, quality and on-time production. You will track performance, guide staffing with planning, and coordinate with HR on the Union contract to maximize productivity and minimize disruptions.

The role requires strong supervisory skills, a focus on safety, and the ability to drive continuous improvement through Kaizen and team-building within a unionized setting.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; technical BS preferred.
  • 2+ years heavy industrial production experience in a high-volume setting; union experience preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and strong team-building skills with peers and subordinates.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee safety, production, quality and schedule performance of the Foundry Molding area during shift.
  • Prepare and monitor daily/weekly shift work plans including staffing with production planning.
  • Ensure staffing and training plans for key operational areas; participate in quality and safety reviews/audits.
  • Coordinate with HR to understand and apply the Union contract to maximize productivity with minimal disruptions.

Job description

Description The Molding Supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our manufacturing processes. We are looking for someone with exceptional management skills, a strong focus on safety, and a passion for driving operational excellence through continuous improvement methodologies like Kaizen.

Department: Manufacturing - Foundry

Location: Columbia, PA - Plant

How You Will Help

  • Responsible for the safety, production, quality and schedule performance of the Foundry Molding area during his/her shift through direct supervision of union production personnel.
  • Prepare and monitor daily and weekly shift work plan including staffing in conjunction with production planning. Ensure we are meeting production targets for assigned Molding area; immediately appraise the Foundry Manager of any significant quality or productivity problems to assure immediate corrective action. Achieve maximum production and “up-time” consistent with trained manpower and equipment availability.
  • Ensure proper staffing and training plans are in place for all key operational areas of his/her Finishing area;
  • Participate in quality and safety reviews and audits to maintain and improve the ISO-9001:2015 implementation of work procedures and policies. Advise Manager of challenges, problems, improvements, ideas and opportunities.
  • Works with Human Resources personnel, under the direction of the Foundry Manager, to understand and effectively relate to the Union contract so as to maximize productivity and minimize disruptions to production while fulfilling all Company commitments contained in the Union contract in a fair and professional manner.

Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned. Employee must be able to obtain a tow motor license and successfully pass LOTO and confined space training.

What you Will Bring

  • High School Diploma required. BS in a technical discipline preferred. Professional certifications would be beneficial.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of heavy industrial production experience in a high-volume setting. Experience with a union preferred.
  • Must have strong work ethic and must have excellent team-building skills with subordinates as well as with peers. Professional PC literacy skills in MS Word and Excel are required.
