Huntington Ingalls Industries, Newport News Shipbuilding seeks a production scheduler in Newport News, VA to plan, prepare, and control production schedules and coordinate with material requirements to ensure timely delivery of parts and assemblies. You will advise management on work‑in‑progress and material availability, addressing production issues to keep operations on track.

A Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years of progressive experience, or a Master’s with 4 years, is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with progressive professional and/or supervisory experience required; Master's Degree with 4 years of relevant experience also qualifies.
• Equivalent qualifications may include: Military Paygrade E-5 or above; 2-year degree + 2 years relevant exempt experience or 4 years relevant non-exempt; high school/GED + 4-8 years related manufacturing, shipbuilding, or military experience.

Responsabilités

• Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials to meet production requirements.
• Advises management on status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems; schedules equipment and personnel; prepares work orders or purchase requests.
• Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
