Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America in Mechanicsburg, PA seeks a Manager, Production Planning at our retort plant to drive planning, procurement, inventory and logistics strategies that keep our operation efficient and our customers supplied.

You will lead cross‑functional teams across manufacturing, procurement, transportation, vendors and customers, balancing demand with production capacity while ensuring materials are in the right place at the right time.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in business or related curriculum preferred.
• 5–8 years of production planning or related experience with leadership attributes; 1+ year of manager experience preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing process flow and planning methods.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily shipping/receiving activities to meet customer requirements while controlling cost and upholding safety and quality standards.
• Supervise and develop assigned employees; coordinate with HR and plant management on issues.
• Oversee procurement, material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing and receiving.
• Coordinate procurement of raw ingredients and packaging materials.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies; interpret as needed.
• Oversee inventory levels to protect operational and financial goals.
• Lead kaizen events, corrective actions and audits.
• Develop and maintain programs, spreadsheets and records for up-to-date information.
