Job summary

DFA in Mechanicsburg, PA seeks a Manager, Production Planning to drive the planning, procurement, inventory and logistics strategies for the dairy beverage plant, aligning demand with production capacity to support operational excellence and growth.

You will lead teams, coordinate with procurement, vendors and customers, manage materials flow and maintain safety and quality standards while optimizing costs and service.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in business or related curriculum preferred.
• 5 to 8 years of production planning, or related experience with leadership attributes, supervision experience; 1+ year of manager experience preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing process flow and its impact to production throughput.
• Knowledge of planning and production methodologies.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities; supervision and personnel management.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and learning new systems.
• Certification and/or license may be required during employment.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily shipping/receiving to ensure orders are received, scheduled, and produced at lowest possible cost while meeting safety and quality standards.
• Manage assigned employees, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and performance management.
• Oversee strategic purchasing, MRP, inventory control, warehousing, and receiving.
• Coordinate procurement of all raw ingredients and packaging materials.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies; advise supervisors on interpretation when necessary.
• Oversee and manage inventory levels to safeguard operational and financial goals.
• Lead kaizen events, corrective actions, and audits.
• Develop and maintain programs, spreadsheets and other record-keeping to keep information current.
