Job summary

Marmon Industrial Energy and Infrastructure is seeking a Senior Planner to develop and execute production plans in a wire and cable manufacturing environment. You will link Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, Production, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to maintain schedules and optimize capacity.

The role requires strong analytics, manufacturing knowledge, and the ability to respond to material constraints, equipment availability, and changing customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• 5+ years in production planning, scheduling, materials planning, or supply chain in manufacturing.
• Experience in wire, cable, electrical products, metals, plastics, extrusion, or similar processes preferred.
• Strong understanding of MRP, scheduling, capacity planning, inventory management, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, Epicor, or similar.
• Advanced Excel skills with pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and data analysis.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and communicate detailed production schedules based on demand, capacity, and constraints.
• Convert orders, forecasts, and master production requirements into actionable plans.
• Set production priorities to maximize throughput and on-time delivery.
• Plan across multiple work centers and processes: wire drawing, stranding, cabling, extrusion, jacketing, spooling, packaging.
• Balance machine capacity, labor, tooling, materials, changeover requirements, and lead times.
• Identify conflicts and develop recovery plans; monitor daily performance and adjust as needed.
• Coordinate short- and medium-range capacity planning to support growth and customer needs.
• Collaborate with Purchasing to ensure material availability and communicate risks.
