Job summary

Manpower Engineering is seeking a Senior Production Planner to coordinate multi-site production, monitor KPIs, and optimize schedules for steel fabrication. You will work with cross-functional teams to balance capacity, materials, and delivery windows, driving efficiency and on-time performance in a demanding manufacturing environment.

The role requires strong planning, analytical skills, and experience with MRP systems, CAD tools, and BI reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or 6+ years scheduling/demand planning experience.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and teamwork traits.
• Outstanding planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively present information, data, and recommendations to all organizational levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (focus on Excel and Project) and Power BI.
• Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD and/or similar).
• SIOP/S&OP knowledge
• ASCM (formerly APICS) Certification in CPIM or CSCP (preferred, but not required)
• Knowledge of structural steel materials and welding processes (preferred, but not required)
• Ability to pass a background and drug screen

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Plant/Shop Leadership to ensure adequate backlog of cut sheets to meet production schedule.
• Coordinate with maintenance and manufacturing teams to schedule preventive maintenance and minimize unplanned downtime.
• Monitor KPIs related to production planning, scheduling, and execution.
• Communicate KPIs to stakeholders and propose corrective actions as needed.
• Create detailed production schedules considering capacity, resources, and constraints.
• Recommend capacity expansion or improvements to meet future demand.
• Generate reports and analyses to assess planning strategies.
• Develop system reports to analyze data on materials, capacity, lead times.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align schedules with business objectives.
• Monitor and adjust schedules for demand changes, drops, disruptions, or breakdowns.
• Identify capacity constraints and develop risk mitigation plans.
• Conduct regular capacity planning assessments.
