Job summary

DRS RADA Technologies, a Leonardo DRS subsidiary, is hiring a Senior Production Planner to join our Germantown, MD team on-site. You will develop, maintain, and execute the Master Production Schedule to align capacity, materials and delivery requirements, collaborating with production, materials, contracts, and program management.

The role requires a strong production planning background, extensive MRP experience, and advanced Excel skills. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of demonstrated experience.
• Solid understanding of business processes and inter-relationships.
• Strong background in project material management.
• Extensive experience in production planning.
• Proficient with Excel, Pivot Tables, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint.
• Excellent understanding of MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Create the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on production capacity, materials availability and contractual requirements.
• Obtain agreement from production, materials and program office before execution of the MPS.
• Maintain the MPS files.
• Ensure closeout of old programs/jobs including disposition of requisitions, purchase orders and residual inventory.
• Monitor shipping performance to MPS and contracts and create tracking reports.
• Track and report the number of changes to each MPS.
• Interface with contracts, planning, master scheduling and production to create/maintain the Internal Operating Plan (IOP).
• Ensure product moves from production to packaging to shipping.
• Create reports showing actual shipments against projections.
• Work with manufacturing to establish a stable manufacturing schedule.
• Improve current system, functions, and daily operations to meet goals.
• Reschedule daily delivery requirements if re-planning is needed to meet internal/contractual obligations.
• Consolidate demand for purchase requisitions.
• Support and defend the mission, values and culture of the company.
