Salary: Up to £40K (based on experience)

Job Type: Full-Time

Are you an experienced planner ready to take on a challenging role in a dynamic manufacturing environment? We're looking for a detail-driven Senior Planner to lead production scheduling and material planning for complex, made-to-order valve assemblies. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in coordinating operations across multiple departments and driving improvements in a precision-engineered setting.

Why This Role?
  • Make a Strategic Impact: Lead planning efforts in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing operation where your decisions directly affect delivery performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including assembly, machining, procurement, and repair, to ensure production flow and materials availability.
  • Growth & Development: Join a team that values continuous improvement, operational excellence, and supports your professional growth.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Develop and manage production schedules and work orders for new builds and repairs.
  • Align material needs with engineering BOMs and customer specifications.
  • Monitor capacity constraints and proactively adjust schedules across departments.
  • Maintain and update planning data in ERP/MRP systems.
  • Track work order progress and implement solutions to remove bottlenecks.
  • Coordinate with procurement and stores to avoid material shortages.
  • Support customer service with accurate lead time estimates.
  • Improve planning processes and implement metrics like lead time performance and capacity utilization.
  • Support WIP tracking, kitting, and planning-based continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience: 5+ years in planning roles within low-volume, complex manufacturing environments (engineered-to-order or made-to-order).
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of CNC machining, mechanical assembly, testing, and repair operations.
  • ERP Proficiency: Experience with systems like SAP, Epicor, NetSuite, or similar.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient with Excel and comfortable handling data to drive planning decisions.
  • Communication: Excellent problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field.
  • APICS CPIM or similar planning certification.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and document control processes.
Working Conditions
  • Based in both office and production environments.
  • Regular interaction with engineering, machining, quality, and dispatch departments.
  • Some flexibility required to support urgent or short-turnaround customer orders.
