Position Summary
- Responsible for overall deliverable control of the new product introduction cycle from new model kickoff and total project control from design release through production start to assure a smooth and successful product launch.
- Schedule and coordinate flow of work within or between departments of manufacturing plant to expedite production.
- May expedite material.
- Fabrication Planning
- Distribute work orders to departments denoting number, type, and proposed completion date of units to be produced.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate activities with New Model Cross-Functional Team to successfully launch new models.
- Collaborate with Product Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, Packaging, Logistics, Operations, Distribution, and Quality to eliminate launch issues and ensure successful introduction of new models.
- Facilitate and support various departments in pilot launches, establishing embargo and release dates.
- Maintain and monitor project timelines, ensuring deadlines are met and informing the organization of delays.
- Review deliverables with each division to mitigate future risks.
- Analyze launch issues and develop countermeasures to correct and prevent future problems.
- Lead multiple projects simultaneously, achieving objectives related to Scope, Quality, Time, and Cost using 1QDC targets.
- Implement improvements to the 1QDC process.
- Participate in product review meetings to gather information for successful launches.
- Lead weekly cross-functional team meetings to review project statuses and maintain accuracy in BOM, C-Base, PYMAC, and SAP.
- Publish and maintain New Model Publication Reports and Start Calendars.
- Communicate with Sales on new model status.
- Identify and assess risks and communicate issues related to new model launches.
Fabrication Planning
Specific Duties:
- Work with supervision to optimize production methods for efficiency and cost.
- Maintain efficient material flow considering storage constraints.
- Assist in resolving work problems and suggest efficiency plans.
- Monitor G-line efficiency and reschedule activities as needed.
- Ensure timely reporting for FAB shops.
- Interface with suppliers and logistics for shipments and invoices.
- Support continuous departmental improvement.
New Model Introduction Planning
- Control the entire new product introduction cycle for smooth launches.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure milestones are met.
- Manage schedule change requests and assess risks.
- Monitor department performance using 1QDC metrics.
- Cross-train and support other production control functions.
- Lead executive meetings with effective agenda management.
- Communicate with Sales regarding launch statuses.
Qualifications
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years in Production Control or Project Management in manufacturing.
Required Skills:
- Strong project management skills for multiple projects.
- Self-starter with minimal supervision required.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in Windows applications, Excel, Teams, Smartsheet, Miro.
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations.
