Job summary

Geremarie, a Lake Zurich, IL manufacturer, seeks a seasoned production scheduling professional to drive schedules across multiple departments. You will translate demand into executable plans, sequence production, and coordinate with Engineering and Operations to validate times and routings.

The role demands 5+ years in manufacturing planning, strong ERP/MRP and Excel skills, and the ability to identify bottlenecks and risks while improving data accuracy. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive production planning and scheduling experience in manufacturing.
• Advanced understanding of production scheduling, capacity planning, material planning, routings, work orders, lead times, cycle/setup times, WIP, and inventory.
• Experience scheduling across multiple machines, work centers, departments, or manufacturing processes.
• Strong ERP/MRP experience; Global Shop Solutions experience is a plus.
• Advanced Excel and production-reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and forward-looking production schedules across multiple departments and work centers.
• Translate customer demand and business priorities into realistic, executable production schedules.
• Sequence production, prototypes, first articles, inspection, rework, tooling/fixture work, and other manufacturing requirements.
• Evaluate capacity, machine availability, labor, materials, tooling, routings, cycle/setup times, quality requirements, and dependencies before releasing work.
• Identify bottlenecks, shortages, capacity constraints, and delivery risks and coordinate recovery plans with the appropriate teams.
• Adjust schedules when priorities change due to downtime, shortages, quality holds, engineering changes, or customer requirements.
• Establish clear production expectations including work order, quantity, due date, priority, responsible area, and known constraints.
• Lead regular schedule reviews comparing planned work to actual completion and identify the cause of significant variances.
• Partner with Production leadership to improve schedule execution and adherence.
• Work with Engineering and Operations to validate cycle times, setup times, routings, and production standards.
• Analyze capacity and demand to identify developing constraints before they impact customer commitments.
• Support inventory planning, reorder-point analysis, safety-stock decisions, and made-to-order vs made-to-stock strategies.
• Maintain accurate scheduling, routing, WIP, capacity, and work-order information within Global Shop ERP.
• Develop and improve scheduling reports, dashboards, exception reporting, and planning tools.
• Establish standard processes for scheduling, priority changes, work-order release, schedule recovery, and escalation.

• Maintain accurate scheduling, routing, WIP, capacity, and work-order information within Global Shop ERP.
• Develop and improve scheduling reports, dashboards, exception reporting, and planning tools.
• Establish standard processes for scheduling, priority changes, work-order release, schedule recovery, and escalation.
• Help move the organization from reactive scheduling and expediting toward a disciplined, data-driven production planning system.

What We're Looking For

We are specifically looking for someone who has already done this successfully in a manufacturing environment and can bring that knowledge and experience to our operation.

• 5+ years of progressive production planning and scheduling experience in manufacturing; extensive experience strongly preferred.
• Advanced understanding of production scheduling, capacity planning, material planning, routings, work orders, lead times, cycle/setup times, WIP, and inventory.
• Demonstrated experience scheduling across multiple machines, work centers, departments, or manufacturing processes.
• Strong ERP/MRP experience; Global Shop Solutions experience is a plus.
• Experience identifying and resolving scheduling constraints involving materials, labor, equipment, tooling, quality, and engineering.
• Ability to determine whether a production schedule is realistically executable not simply whether an order has a due date.
• Strong understanding of the relationship between customer demand, takt/capacity, inventory, production lead time, and delivery performance.
• Experience improving planning or scheduling processes, data, systems, or reporting.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with imperfect data, identify gaps, and improve data accuracy.
• Advanced Excel and production-reporting skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate priorities across departments.
• Comfortable challenging inaccurate assumptions or data and escalating risks when necessary.
• Able to work independently and bring structure to a developing planning environment.

Pay Range

A reasonable estimate of the hourly pay range for this role is $90,000 – $115,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location.
