PQ is seeking a Production Manager to oversee manufacturing operations within its chemical plant, guiding daily production and long-term goals with minimal supervision.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and environmental compliance, with responsibilities spanning Furnace, Spray Dry and Shipping operations, resource planning, and participation in site-wide QHSE initiatives. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the chemical industry in a manufacturing environment.
• 3 years of supervisory/management experience with increasing responsibility.
• 4-year college Degree in technical field and/or equivalent job experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) rules and regulations.
• Familiarity with management systems such as ISO 9001 and RC14001.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervises production operations in Furnace, Spray Dry and Shipping
• Assure appropriate resources are in place (raw materials, packaging materials, people, etc…) to meet production orders.
• Maintains quality control of production unit(s).
• Maintains safe working conditions and practices.
• Assures environmental control of facility as required by permits and regulations.
• Communicates problems, instructions, observations, and information to others as needed.
• Participates in plant-wide quality, HSES, and productivity initiatives.
• Supports, implements, and participates in ISO 9001:2000 and RC14001 activities.
• Participates on Safety Committee.
• Participates in HSE activities (i.e., Toolbox meetings, Accident investigations, Near misses, etc.).
• Comply with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and requirements.
• Comply with company policies.
• Other duties as assigned or required.
