Job summary

W. L. Gore & Associates in Elkton, MD is seeking a Production Leader to guide a 1–2 Area Leaders and ~30 Associates across multiple lines and shifts on a day shift.

You will translate business priorities into actionable manufacturing plans and drive safety, quality and cost targets. Responsibilities include staffing, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Maintenance to build an engaged team and a compliant operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of operational leadership experience
• Experience leading leaders and developing others through coaching and performance management
• Ability to translate business strategy into manufacturing execution plans including staffing and capacity
• Strong data, problem-solving and Lean skills to address complex problems
• Proven ability to engage across functions and maintain an inclusive environment

Responsibilities

• Lead a department through Area Leaders coaching and developing 30 Associates
• Execute short- to mid-term manufacturing strategy and plans
• Direct production to meet schedule, volume, cost and quality targets
• Maintain safe, compliant operations with strong emphasis on safety investigations
• Ensure quality system compliance and lead audits and corrective actions
• Develop staffing, equipment and capacity plans with cross-functional partners
• Set and report on key performance metrics and close gaps
• Apply Lean tools (6S, value stream mapping, daily management)
• Manage area costs, investments, overtime and forecasting
• Lead hiring, onboarding, and succession planning across the area
