Placements24 seeks a Senior Production Engineer to optimize hydrocarbon production on-site in Upington, Northern Cape. You will analyze production data, implement artificial lift systems, and collaborate with drilling and reservoir teams to maximize recovery while ensuring safe, economical operations.

The role requires 7+ years in production engineering, a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum or Chemical Engineering, and hands-on field experience with surface facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Petroleum/Chemical Engineering).
• 7+ years of progressive experience in production engineering within Oil & Gas.
• Experience in production optimization, artificial lift, and well intervention techniques.
• Strong knowledge of production system design, operations, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with production software and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze well and facility production performance data.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize production rates and recovery factors.
• Design, implement, and manage artificial lift systems (e.g., ESPs, gas lift, rod pumps).
• Troubleshoot and resolve production-related operational problems.
• Conduct well performance analysis and recommend interventions (e.g., workovers, stimulation).
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers to ensure production plans align with reservoir management objectives.
• Work closely with drilling engineers during the well completion and initial production phases.
• Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental (HSE) standards in all production activities.
• Prepare production forecasts, reports, and economic evaluations.
• Provide technical support and mentorship to junior production engineers and technicians.
