Job summary

Pinterest is seeking a Senior Production Engineer in Solutions Engineering to design AI agents, platforms and automation that assure reliability of large-scale distributed systems serving hundreds of millions of users.

You will lead infrastructure modernization, build automation to reduce toil and empower engineers, and encode successful patterns into reusable tools and runbooks across Pinterest's engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python or Go.
• Deep knowledge of Linux/Unix internals and experience with open source infrastructure.
• Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience deploying web applications to cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Preferred: AI agents for infrastructure automation, AI/ML infrastructure, technical consulting or embedded SRE experience.

• Transform consulting patterns into scalable platforms and self-serve tools.
• Build knowledge infrastructure for Pinterest's operational agent ecosystem.
• Develop software to ensure reliability and operability of large-scale distributed systems.
• Create automation to reduce toil and enable rapid deployment at scale.
• Develop meaningful SLIs for data-driven reliability decisions.
• Automate critical portions of engineering processes to minimize risk.
• Collaborate with teams to plan capacity across clouds worldwide.
