Job summary

Pinterest is seeking a Staff Software Engineer focused on AI tools and secure integrations. You will lead the architecture for connecting external AI tools to Pinterest, own MCP servers and connectors, and drive cross‑functional initiatives across Security, Networking, and Vendors.

You will mentor engineers, define standards for onboarding AI vendors, and shape scalable, automation‑driven solutions while ensuring reliability and security across enterprise AI adoption.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience building/operating production services.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent).
• Strong backend programming skills in Python, Go, Java, or TypeScript/Node.
• Deep expertise in authentication/authorization (OAuth/OIDC/SAML) and secure design.
• Experience with APIs, integrations, CI/CD, testing, and observability.

Responsibilities

• Own third‑party AI tools connectivity end‑to‑end and secure boundary controls.
• Design and evolve AI integration architecture with reusable patterns.
• Build and operate MCP servers and connectors to internal tools (Slack, Google Workspace, Atlassian).
• Lead incident response and cross‑system troubleshooting for high‑impact issues.
• Develop automation and integrations using scripting and platform APIs.
• Integrate AI tools with identity, security, and IT workflows.
• Mentor engineers and drive cross‑functional AI onboarding projects.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate needs into durable technical solutions.
