Job summary

SawStop, the leader in power-tool safety, seeks a Senior Product Test Engineer to lead validation across mechanical, electromechanical, and software platforms. You will build test plans, drive system-level testing, and partner with design and quality teams to ensure safety and reliability of SawStop products.

In this role you will develop test procedures, validate real-world use cases, and lead cross-functional efforts while mentoring technicians and coordinating with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical/Electrical/Systems engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in test engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with system-level testing of electromechanical products.
• Strong fundamentals across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
• Familiarity with motor controllers and safety circuits.
• Hands-on with lab equipment and data acquisition.
• Experience with automated test hardware and related software.
• Understanding of engineering specs, drawings, schematics.
• Green belt in DFLSS, MSA, Gauge R&R, or DOE is a plus.
• Strong leadership to influence cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead system-level testing and develop test plans, procedures, and protocols.
• Define real-world test methodologies and validate interactions across components.
• Create and maintain test documentation and regulatory records.
• Develop custom test platforms and data acquisition systems.
• Train technicians and ensure proper use of equipment.
• Collaborate with design, supply chain, and project teams.
• Support design reviews, risk assessments, and verification planning.
• Drive process and quality improvements in testing.
• Occasional international travel (<5%).
