Job summary

GE in New York is seeking an experienced leader for Steam Turbine Design and Product Service initiatives. You will drive cross-functional projects, resolve complex turbine issues, mentor teams, and present results at conferences and customer events.

The role requires 8+ years in turbine design/maintenance, a BS (MS preferred), and solid leadership with strong communication to coordinate across engineering, manufacturing, and commercial groups.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or higher.
• 8+ years in Steam Turbine design, maintenance, or related.
• US work authorization; drug screen may be required.
• Demonstrated expertise in steam turbine design, installation and/or maintenance.
• MS in Engineering or related field is preferred.
• Strong collaboration and leadership to direct cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and initiatives with broad scope and potentially high impact to the Product Service business.
• Own technical resolution of multiple complex steam turbine issues.
• Mentor and train others in areas of expertise and experience.
• Facilitate collaboration among engineering, design, commercial, manufacturing, supplier and other teams.
• Develop and implement technical solutions meeting customer needs.
• Coordinate and present at technical conferences and customer-facing events.
• Lead cross-functional Root Cause Analysis of GE equipment non-conformances.
• Lead initiatives to improve starting reliability, availability and trip reduction.
• Provide technical support for new unit installation, startup and outage work scopes.
• Support Engineering Request workstream for critical issues.
• Author and coach others in creating internal and external communications, including TILS, ETC and customer presentations.
• Communicate fleet and product issues into the NPI process and GE Vernova leadership.
• Identify new opportunities and drive development of effective offerings.
• Participate in global product service meetings to grow individual and global team expertise.

Requirements

• Bachelors of Science in Engineering
• 8+ years of experience in Steam Turbine Design, Steam Turbine Maintenance or similar
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
• Demonstrated expertise in steam turbine design, installation and/or maintenance
• Master of Science in Engineering or related field
• Initiative and interpersonal skills to direct cross-functional projects and work
• Ability to work well with teams and communicate requests and requirements clearly
