Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Product Security Engineer for Starlink in California. You will influence security across Starlink products, designing cryptographic services and security features for routers, dishes, gateways, and satellites.

You will work with cross‑functional teams to implement robust security across complex systems. You should have 5+ years in security software development, experience with Python/C++/Golang, and a strong grasp of cryptography and OS/security design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or another STEM discipline or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in security software development; or 7+ years with no degree.
• Experience with Python, C++, or Golang.
• Experience designing security solutions for OS, distributed systems, or large-scale infra.

Responsibilities

• Design and build security infrastructure for Starlink, including cryptographic services and other security-critical services.
• Develop security features for Starlink systems, including router, dish, gateways, and satellites.
• Design security into factory processes and provide network services in support of this.
• Maintain existing production systems and improve security posture via direct implementation and cross-team recommendations.
• Build prototypes and test security improvements.
• Further Starlink's mission to provide secure and reliable Internet to underserved communities.
