Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Software Security Engineer for Starlink in Redmond. You will influence security across Starlink products, designing cryptographic services and security-critical features for routers, gateways and satellites.

The role emphasizes building secure, reliable systems, incident response, and collaboration with multiple engineering teams to outsmart adversaries on an inter-planetary scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or STEM with 5+ years in security software development; OR 7+ years in security software development in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with one or more programming languages (Python, C++, Golang).
• Experience designing and implementing security solutions for OS, distributed systems, or large-scale infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and build security infrastructure for Starlink, including cryptographic services and other security-critical services.
• Develop security features for Starlink systems, including router, dish, gateways, and satellites.
• Design security into factory processes and provide network services in support of this.
• Maintain existing production systems and improve security posture via direct implementation and cross-team recommendations.
• Build prototypes and help identify, design, and test security improvements.
• Further the mission of providing secure and reliable Internet to underserved communities.
