Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Embedded Security Engineer (Starlink) in Hawthorne, CA to design and implement security infrastructure across Starlink products, including cryptographic services and security-critical systems.

You will develop security features for routers, dishes, gateways, and satellites, and drive secure-by-design practices throughout factory processes. The role emphasizes cryptography, OS and network security, vulnerability research, and collaboration with multiple engineering teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or another STEM discipline with 5+ years in security software development; or 7+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with Python, C++, or Golang.
• Experience designing and implementing security solutions for OS, distributed systems, or large-scale infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and build security infrastructure for Starlink, including cryptographic services and security-critical services.
• Develop security features for Starlink systems (router, dish, gateways, satellites).
• Design security into factory processes and provide network services in support of this.
• Maintain production systems and improve security posture via implementation and recommendations.
• Build prototypes and identify/design/test security improvements.
• Further SpaceX's mission to provide secure and reliable Internet to underserved communities.
