Job summary

LanceDB, the AI-native Multimodal Lakehouse, seeks its first product security-focused engineer to shape platform security. You will collaborate with senior engineers to drive security improvements that align with product goals and customer needs.

Day-to-day work includes implementing key rotation, API credentials management, RBAC, and encryption features, while applying current best practices to a high-throughput data platform. This role blends hands-on coding with security strategy.

Qualifications

• 8+ years as a software engineer with appsec focus.
• Experience on large-scale data platforms with concurrency/multitenancy.
• Proficient in Rust and/or C++.
• Experience building encryption and authentication features for high-throughput products.
• Previous work at an early-stage startup is advantageous.
• Strong ownership of ambiguous projects and clear communication.
• Experience collaborating with open source communities.

Responsibilities

• Drive security-related functionality such as key rotation, user-managed API credentials, RBAC, and more.
• Select, deploy and tune security tooling across all relevant repos and environments with full coverage.
• Apply industry trends and vulnerabilities to LanceDB's product.
