Job summary

LanceDB is seeking an experienced security-focused engineer to own and advance the product security posture. You will drive key security features, tooling, and best practices across the platform, collaborating with engineers across teams to ship secure, high-throughput data systems.

The role requires deep expertise in app security, data platforms, and systems programming (Rust/C++), with a track record of ownership in ambiguous startup environments and a strong emphasis on measurable security

Qualifications

• 8+ years as a software engineer with focus on application security.
• Experience with large-scale data platforms, concurrency and multitenancy.
• Proficient in Rust and/or C++ for security features.
• Experience at an early-stage startup and owning ambiguous projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication; data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Drive security-related functionality like key rotation and RBAC.
• Deploy and tune security tooling across repos and environments.
• Apply industry trends and vulnerabilities to the product.
