Plaid is seeking an experienced Product Security Architect to lead security reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments for our products. This role collaborates closely with engineering and product teams to embed secure design from development through launch, with a focus on AI-enabled capabilities and scalable security patterns.

You will evaluate authentication, data flows, and business logic, review code for weaknesses, and drive pragmatic mitigations across complex systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in product or application security, with strong expertise in secure architecture and risk assessment.
• Experience leading security design reviews and threat modeling for complex apps, APIs, or distributed systems.
• Deep understanding of authentication, authorization, trust boundaries, data protection, and common vulnerabilities.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including reading code and validating fixes.

Responsibilities

• Lead security architecture and design reviews for high-priority Plaid products from early development through launch.
• Conduct threat modeling and security assessments of complex apps, APIs, distributed systems, and workflows to identify risks.
• Evaluate auth, trust boundaries, data flows, and business logic for vulnerabilities and abuse cases.
• Review application code, investigate weaknesses, and verify fixes address risks.
• Assess security implications of new tech, including AI-powered features and agentic workflows.
• Partner with engineering leadership to prioritize risks, mitigate, and track across remediation or risk acceptance.
• Identify recurring weaknesses and define reusable security requirements and design patterns.
• Leverage AI-assisted security analysis to continuously improve assessments.
