Job summary

Plaid Inc. is seeking an experienced Product Security professional in Seattle to lead security architecture reviews and threat models for core products.

You will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to identify risks early and shape secure design choices throughout development and deployment. You will evaluate authentication, authorization, data flows, and business logic for vulnerabilities, and drive fixes with engineering teams while examining the security implications of

Qualifications

• 5+ years in product or application security with hands-on design and risk assessment.
• Experience leading security design reviews and threat modeling for complex apps.
• Deep understanding of authentication, authorization, data protection and vuln management.
• Strong ability to read code, analyze vulnerabilities, and validate fixes.
• Experience securing cloud-native apps and understanding system architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead security architecture and design reviews for high-priority Plaid products with engineering and product teams from development to launch.
• Conduct threat modeling and security assessments of apps, APIs, distributed systems and workflows.
• Evaluate auth, trust boundaries, data flows, and business logic for vulnerabilities and abuse cases.
• Review code, investigate weaknesses, and validate fixes address root causes.
• Assess security implications of new tech, including AI-powered capabilities and agentic workflows.
• Prioritize material risks with engineering leadership and track mitigations to remediation or acceptance.
• Identify recurring weaknesses and define reusable security requirements and secure design patterns.
• Leverage AI-assisted security analysis to improve assessments and validate assumptions.
