Job summary

Applied Materials, Inc. is seeking a Product Safety Engineer (E3) to drive safety assessments, compliance, and risk mitigation across semiconductor equipment. You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure adherence to SEMI, NFPA, ISO, IEC, and CE standards.

The role requires evaluating new technologies, leading safety analyses, and supporting design reviews, with travel to customer and manufacturing sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Safety, or related engineering.
• 5–7 years in product safety, compliance, or equipment engineering preferred.
• Strong ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and specs.
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional evaluations of new technologies using risk methods (FMEA, FTA).
• Develop programs to minimize risk to people, facilities and the environment.
• Initiate safety analyses on components and systems.
• Ensure compliance with company, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support product design reviews from a safety perspective.
• Review drawings for safety hazards and non-conformances.
