Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 6–8 years in North American agency approvals (UL/CSA) and CFR/OSHA compliance.
• Experience with power tools and product safety for consumer products.
• Excellent written and oral English communication.

Responsibilities

• Analyze new product designs for user hazards and develop mitigation requirements.
• Document safety requirements in Product Safety Review and maintain them.
• Communicate safety requirements to project teams via meetings and emails.
• Review test reports to confirm safety qualifications are met.
• Provide safety input for user manuals and warnings.
• Mentor other safety engineers and train teams.
• Develop safety guidelines and procedures.
• Support investigations of field returns.
