Job summary

Valeo North America, Inc. in Troy, MI seeks a Discipline Senior Engineer - Product Safety to define and review automotive safety requirements, build conformity matrices and traceability metrics, and lead safety assessments across projects.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering and 4+ years leading safety-focused automotive programs, expertise in ISO26262, ASPICE, ADAS and related sensors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related field required.
• 4+ years in automotive system development leading safety projects (functional safety, ADAS or sensors).
• Experience with QRQC, IP protection, coaching junior engineers and FMEAs.
• Knowledge of CAN and Automotive Ethernet protocols; ASPICE and ISO26262 familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Define & review automotive safety requirements based on customer needs & internal standards.
• Lead creation of conformity matrices & traceability metrics for safety.
• Analyze logical & physical risks; architect system designs for safe states.
• Define & oversee test plans; lead safety assessments & audits across projects.
