Job summary

Valeo North America, Inc. in Troy, MI seeks a Discipline Senior Engineer - Product Safety to define and review automotive safety requirements per customer needs and internal standards, and to lead conformity matrices and risk analyses across projects.

You will architect system designs for safe states, oversee test plans, and guide teams through safety assessments and audits, focusing on ADAS and sensors with CAN/Automotive Ethernet, ASPICE, and ISO26262 expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronics, Computer or Software Engineering or closely-related field.
• 4+ years in automotive system development leading engineering projects involving functional safety, ADAS and/or automotive sensors.

Responsibilities

• Define & review automotive safety requirements based on customer needs & internal standards.
• Lead creation of conformity matrices & traceability metrics.
• Analyze logical & physical risks; architect & review system designs that detect failures & transition to safe states.
• Define & oversee test plans; negotiate Development Interface Agreements; build safety cases.
• Lead project teams through safety assessments & audits.
