BBPOS is one of the world leaders in payment devices and the inventors of mPOS technology. BBPOS products are used by large retailers and leading online platforms across multiple industries. BBPOS is engaged in the business of manufacturing and supplying mobile and smart point-of-sale hardware, and the underlying software and infrastructure to deploy, manage, and monitor those devices. BBPOS is now part of Stripe’s Terminal business since the acquisition in March 2022.

About the team

Post-acquisition, the BBPOS team is an extension of the Stripe Terminal team. Stripe Terminal helps users extend their online presence into the physical world, making in-person payments as seamless as online transactions. The team’s mission is to facilitate various in-person payment use cases, from flagship retail experiences to pop-up stores and mobile point-of-sale at events.

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform used by millions of companies worldwide, from large enterprises to startups, to accept payments, grow revenue, and explore new business opportunities.

Role Overview

BBPOS is seeking a passionate, self-motivated, and diligent Quality Engineer to join a diverse, dynamic, and energetic team. The role involves collaborative work across multiple projects, requiring expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, and Hardware Quality Assurance, along with experience in Quality Management Systems, data analysis, and QA methodologies. The candidate will report directly to the Vice President of Quality and may require occasional travel.

What you will do

  • Define and implement quality management practices in OEM factories.
  • Conduct failure analyses and implement corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Develop and enforce QA processes for in-house hardware solutions, including testing and diagnostic tools.
  • Lead quality readiness reviews during new product launches.
  • Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives across OEMs.
  • Establish metrics to monitor and improve OEM quality performance.
  • Utilize statistical analysis to interpret key quality data.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define critical quality parameters for new products.
  • Contribute quality insights to design for manufacturing processes.
  • Work with cross-functional teams on business initiatives, providing data-driven insights.

Who you are

We seek candidates who meet the minimum requirements below. Preferred qualifications are a plus but not mandatory.

Minimum requirements:

  • Engineering degree (BE, BS, or MS).
  • At least five years of experience in hardware QA, focusing on preventing quality issues in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of FATP processes for POS or similar electronic products.
  • Familiarity with Lean principles and methodologies such as PDCA, 8D, Kaizen, Mistake Proofing, DMAIC, FMEA.
  • Strong root cause analysis and corrective action skills.
  • Experience with statistical process control and risk mitigation.
  • Ability to develop OEM quality audit checklists for continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to influence operations and suppliers regarding quality.
  • Knowledge of hardware failure analysis techniques.
  • Fluent in Vietnamese and English; Chinese language skills are a plus.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Background in SMT and PCBA processes.
  • Quality certifications or qualifications are advantageous.
