Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in the Air Traffic domain to advance next‑gen flight service and air traffic systems. You will operate in a Scaled Agile/SAFe environment as a Product Owner guiding software delivery with stakeholders and architects.

You will align regulatory requirements with backlog items, coordinate validation efforts, and produce traceable design decisions, performance trade‑offs, and risk assessments across releases in a safety‑critical, government program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field with 8+ years experience or Master’s with 6+ years.
• Experience with Agile methodology, principles, and tools.
• Experience as Agile Product Owner including backlog ownership and acceptance of work.
• Experience designing cloud-based systems and engaging customers to understand needs.

Responsibilities

• Review FAA requirement documents and regulations to extract intent and acceptance criteria.
• Manage backlog for one or more Agile teams and prioritize features.
• Engage with stakeholders to identify use cases aligned with workflows and validation readiness.
• Decompose regulations into testable capability statements with FAA compliance mapping.
• Capture and communicate design decisions, trade-offs, and risk assessments with each release.
• Prepare technical documentation including use cases and requirements traceability.
• Lead and participate in structured reviews and inspections.
