Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer / Product Owner to join the Air Traffic Business Area within the Homeland Sector. You will lead one or more Agile teams in a SAFe environment, translating FAA requirements into actionable backlog items and ensuring alignment with safety-critical air traffic system goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field and at least 8 years of relevant experience or a Master’s with at least 6 years
• Experience with Agile methodology, principles, and tools
• Experience in the role of the Agile Product Owner, including backlog ownership and acceptance of work
• Strong understanding of disciplined engineering processes and attention to detail
• Experience with cloud-based systems design and DevSecOps practices

Responsibilities

• Review FAA requirement documents, advisory circulars, and applicable regulations to extract intent and acceptance criteria
• Manage the backlog for one or more Agile teams and prioritize features
• Engage with customer stakeholders to identify use cases and ensure testability and operational alignment
• Decompose regulatory requirements into testable capability statements with clear acceptance criteria
• Capture and communicate design decisions, trade-offs, regulatory rationales, and risk assessments with each release
• Prepare and review technical documentation, including use cases and UI specifications
• Lead and participate in structured reviews and inspections
