Job summary

Leidos LLC is seeking Lead Systems Engineers to join the Air Traffic Business Area within the Homeland Sector, supporting next-generation flight service and air traffic systems. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field with 4-8 years of experience or a Master’s with 2-6 years.
• Experience and familiarity with Agile methodology, principles, and tools.
• Familiarity with the Agile Product Owner role: owning and prioritizing backlog, defining backlog items, making scope decisions, accepting work.
• Strong understanding of disciplined engineering processes.
• Experience writing, testing, debugging, and maintaining software or scripts.
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication.
• Experience designing cloud-based systems.
• Experience engaging customers to understand needs and manage expectations.
• Ability to obtain SF-85 Public Trust suitability determination.
• US Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Review FAA requirement documents and regulations to extract intent, constraints, and acceptance criteria.
• Manage the backlog for Agile teams, prioritizing features based on stakeholder needs.
• Engage with customer stakeholders to identify use cases aligned with workflows and validation readiness.
• Decompose regulatory requirements into testable capability statements with FAA compliance mappings.
• Communicate design decisions, performance trade-offs, and risk assessments with releases for traceability.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, including use cases and UI specifications.
• Participate in structured reviews and inspections.
