Job summary

Vertafore, headquartered in Denver, CO, is seeking a Senior Product Owner to translate business problems into actionable user stories and own the backlog. You will prioritize work, collaborate with Product Managers, QA, UX, and external stakeholders to ensure value delivery across the insurance lifecycle.

You will partner with product managers to distill high-level requirements into concrete user stories and lead backlog prioritization to align with the product strategy and corporate objectives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ professional experience, preferably with B2B SaaS software.
• Previous experience as a product owner for a B2B SaaS software company.
• Real world experience working as part of an Agile software development team.
• Experience working within a cross functional organization and understanding the needs of multiple teams.
• Experience supporting customer needs and communicating.
• Experience communicating effectively with customers.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment within generally defined practices and select methods to obtain solutions.
• Experience leading teams of product owners.
• Experience managing internal stakeholders and aligning to deliver.
• Experience prioritizing product delivery to align to market strategy, product vision, and corporate objectives.

Responsibilities

• Translate business problems into prioritized backlog of user stories for development teams to implement.
• Lead cross-functional teams to obtain clarity and document user stories to the appropriate level of detail.
• Translate project goals into actionable work, prioritizing and sequencing development tasks to meet timelines.
• Partner with QA to define and verify acceptance criteria.
• Communicate with designers, developers, and QA to clarify requirements.
• Engage with customers and conduct market research to ensure value delivery to end users.
• Clarify user stories to the appropriate level of detail where needed.
• Collaborate with product management, development, and UX to define scope and feature deployment.
• When applicable, lead other product owners to deliver on the overall roadmap.
• Consolidate market requirements with product management and align to corporate objectives.
