Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking a Senior Product Marketing Manager in the United States to translate market insights into clear product messaging and go‑to‑market assets. You’ll partner with Product, GTM teams, and Sales to drive market-informed positioning and launch readiness for assigned products.

You will lead cross‑functional efforts, develop customer‑facing materials, and enable sales with compelling storytelling across channels and events.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related product marketing experience or comparable hands‑on experience.
• Solid understanding and working knowledge of positioning, segmentation, messaging, product discovery, go-to-market strategy, launch readiness, and enablement.
• Ability to analyze market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer or field feedback and translate insights into actionable, clear product priorities, customer messaging, and enablement materials.
• Effective cross‑functional collaboration with strong day‑to‑day autonomy, proactively solving issues and raising bigger risks or roadblocks that need broader alignment.
• Consistent track record of influencing decision‑making and direction across multiple cross‑functional teams through insights and partnership.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop concise, audience‑appropriate product messaging and sales tools.
• Experience developing or supporting sales enablement assets such as one‑pagers, knowledge transfer documents, and product or sales demos,
• Strong collaboration skills and comfort working cross‑functionally with Product, Sales, and Marketing partners.

Responsibilities

• Shape product strategy and roadmap priorities by bringing market, customer-focused, and field insights into product discovery and roadmap development.
• Build market and customer understanding through voice-of-customer programs, competitive analysis, and market research, translating insights into recommendations.
• Develop compelling product positioning and messaging for buyers, users, and influencers.
• Lead go-to-market strategy and launch readiness, coordinating messaging, collateral, enablement, timelines, and cross‑functional execution.
• Equip Sales to communicate product value with messaging, demos, one-pagers, and transfer materials for conversations and prospecting.
• Ensure consistent product storytelling across web, channels, events, webinars, and customer touchpoints.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen product visibility through awards, sponsorships, and events aligned to lifecycles.
