Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, Moultrie (www.moultrie.com ) is the leader in game feeders and cellular camera innovation, building products used by hunters, property owners, and others for real-time remote monitoring. We take pride in developing deep user understanding, obsessing about the details, and going the extra mile to show our users we love them. Moultrie is customer-driven – hardware, software, marketing, and customer success teams collaborate to deliver a quality user experience.

We are guided by the following principles: Customer Obsession.; Excellence is the Standard.; Bias for Action.; Act Boldly.; Deliver Results.; Hire and Develop the Best.; Be Curious and Learn.; Win as a Team

Job Summary

Moultrie is looking to add a Senior Product Manager, Camera Retention and Lifecycle to its team. This role owns retention and fleet health for every Moultrie camera after it ships — every generation already in customers' hands. New Product Development owns what's next; you own what's out there now. For firmware, you own release prioritization end to end: the timing of releases by model and what ships in each one. For aging generations, you own the outcomes: if a defect is hurting customers, you drive the fix; if a component is dying, you drive the plan before it stops production; if a generation nears end-of-life, you decide how those customers stay on the Moultrie platform.

This is senior-level scope. You don't own one product — you own the lifecycle strategy for every camera generation we've ever shipped. You develop the strategy for this portfolio; you don't wait for someone to hand it to you. As a \"high confidence, low ego\" team player, you will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Customer Success, Operations, and Marketing to protect the trust hunters put in gear they already own — and to keep field issues from turning into warranty costs, returns, and lost customers.

Job Responsibilities

Own the shipped camera fleet

  • Own the sustainment roadmap across shipped camera generations — fixes, improvements, and compatibility updates, ranked by customer impact and business risk

  • Own FW release prioritization across the fleet — both when each model gets a release and what ships in it — so the right features and bug fixes reach customers when it matters for fleet health and CLTV

  • Prioritize customer-reported defects and field issues across the active fleet, from first report to shipped fix; work with Engineering to scope fixes and with Customer Success on customer communication

  • Analyze field data, warranty claims, and support trends to catch emerging issues before they spread

Shape strategy and lifecycle plans

  • Develop the sustainment strategy for the shipped camera fleet; assist in developing the strategy for the broader camera line

  • Strategically plan the lifecycle of every camera generation — including how and when to EOL

  • Own EOL planning and communication for aging generations; coordinate with Customer Success and Marketing on transition plans that keep long-time customers on the Moultrie platform

  • Track competitive moves that touch the installed base — price drops, trade-in offers, and how competitors handle their own aging products — and keep a point of view on the rationale

  • Feed lessons from the field back to New Product Development so the next generation doesn't repeat the last one's mistakes

Protect production and compatibility

  • Partner with Engineering and Operations to identify parts nearing end-of-life; drive re-qualification or redesign before a dying part stops production or strands field support

  • Partner with Compliance on certification renewals and regulatory requirements (FCC, IC, CE) for products still in market, if necessary

Communicate and enable

  • Represent the customer who already owns our gear in cross-functional planning

  • Proactively communicate progress, decisions, impediments, and risks to management and stakeholders

  • Prepare materials that help Customer Success and Marketing communicate fixes, updates, and transitions to customers

Grow the team

  • May manage one or more Product Managers or Product Owners — understand their career goals, tailor assignments, mentor, and give straight performance feedback

  • Write job descriptions for open roles, prepare hiring briefs, actively recruit, and carry a strong voice in hire / no-hire decisions

  • Help audit the team's mechanisms — templates, checklists, and processes — and adjust what isn't working

How Success Is Measured

This role is accountable for outcomes, not output. Success ties directly to:

  • Retention of customers on aging camera generations — clean transitions keep them in the Moultrie family instead of sending them to a competitor

  • NPS of shipped cameras

  • Fleet health — warranty costs and support ticket trends bend down, not up

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (in lieu of degree we will consider candidates with equitable years of professional work experience)

  • 5+ years in product management, including ownership of one or more major products through their full lifecycle: maintenance, obsolescence, and end-of-life

  • A track record of developing product strategy — not just executing someone else's

  • Strong analytical skills — you’ve used field, warranty, or support data to drive prioritization calls

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; clear cross-functional communication across Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Customer Success

  • Experience mentoring or managing Product Managers or Product Owners

  • Highly organized and detail oriented

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Experience with connected hardware or IoT products, including firmware and backend compatibility across device generations

  • A background in, and product knowledge of, the hunting, fishing, or outdoor sporting goods market
