Job summary

Verkada is seeking an experienced Product Manager to own the Intercom product line end-to-end, including calling stack, routing, and AI-enabled interactions. You will own the roadmap, shape the user experience, and collaborate with engineering and design to deliver reliable, scalable calling and AI-assisted features.

This onsite role requires five days per week at our San Mateo HQ. You will drive customer discovery, prioritize the roadmap, and work with cross-functional teams to improve call

Qualifications

• 8+ years of product management experience.
• Track record building and scaling complex enterprise software.
• Undergraduate degree in computer science, electrical engineering or similar; MS/MBA optional.
• Comfort working deeply with engineers on architecture and tradeoffs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to work onsite five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Define the roadmap for signaling and media paths across pipelines.
• Track metrics: ring rate, connection success rate, dropped calls, QoS.
• Address failure modes on real-world networks and NAT traversal.
• Manage relationships with subprocessors and tech partners.
• Add routing intelligence based on triggers, schedules and staff availability.
• Define caller experiences during routing and concurrent call strategies.
• Build scale tools for routing across sites, users, and devices.
• Enrich calls with context: live captions, visitor history, access logs.
• Build advanced controls: real-time translation, security escalation, multi-door unlocking.
• Drive video features: two-way video, auto-framing, AI filters.
• Define AI conversation guardrails and escalation rules.
• Measure quality with dashboards; prototype and launch new voice AI use cases.
• Work with engineering and design to set strategy and priority; drive from spec to launch.
