Sonos, Inc. is seeking a Principal Product Manager, Software to lead global identity, security, and regulatory compliance initiatives across our software stack. You’ll shape strategy, write requirements, and partner with engineering, legal, privacy, and design to protect users and data at scale.

You’ll define roadmaps, prioritize complex cross‑team work, and mentor other PMs while driving modern PM practices, including AI-assisted workflows, to move faster without sacrificing quality.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Product Management experience, including 3–5 years in software products related to identity, security, or regulatory compliance.
• Principal-level scope with ownership of complex, technical, platform-level products in consumer software or connected hardware.
• Deep domain expertise in identity management systems, cybersecurity, and global privacy regulations.
• Strong technical fluency in APIs, cloud security, cryptography, and modern identity protocols (OAuth, OpenID Connect).
• Exceptional strategic and analytical thinking with a metrics‑driven mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across engineers to executives.
• Comfort with AI-enabled tools to accelerate research, spec writing, and data analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own product strategy for identity, security, and compliance across Sonos software ecosystem.
• Translate regulatory and security needs into actionable requirements (epics, user stories, acceptance criteria).
• Ground decisions in user understanding to balance protection with a seamless experience.
• Maintain a high quality bar for security and identity experiences at scale.
• Collaborate with engineering, legal, privacy, UX design, and support as peers.
• Influence roadmaps and priorities across teams beyond direct management.
• Track regulatory developments and translate into product solutions to minimize risk.
• Mentor and elevate other PMs through reviews and coaching.
• Modernize product development with AI-assisted research and prototyping.
