Job summary

Planet seeks a Senior Product Manager for Defense & Intelligence Tasking Solutions to bridge our Tasking platform with defense offerings and translate mission rules into satellite collection workflows. You will own Tip-and-Cue and the Tasking Strategy Engine, aligning with Constellation Services and RTI.

You will partner with Forward Deployed Engineers to turn recurring field patterns into reusable platform features, driving down latency and shaping the roadmap.

Qualifications

• 6 to 8 years of technical product management bridging core platform teams and field teams.
• Solid understanding of tasking, scheduling, or workflow orchestration systems and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience translating operational rules or domain-specific processes into system workflows.
• Background in geospatial intelligence, satellite tasking, or defense technology field.

Responsibilities

• Define how config-driven logic translates to sensor/constellation selection and collection cadence.
• Identify recurring patterns with Forward Deployed Engineers and convert them into reusable platform features.
• Translate defense business rules into dynamic tasking strategy designs to reduce latency.
• Contribute to a prioritized D&I Tasking Solutions roadmap with cross-team inputs.
• Ensure compliance, security, and data privacy standards across products.
• Collaborate with adjacent PMs to deliver end-to-end user experiences.
