Job summary

Planet Labs PBC is seeking a Senior Product Manager for Defense & Intelligence Tasking Solutions in a hybrid role based in San Francisco, CA or Arlington, VA. You will bridge the Mission platform with defense offerings, owning Tip-and-Cue and tasking strategy engineering to meet high-consequence requirements.

You will partner with Forward Deployed Engineering to convert field integration patterns into durable platform capabilities, driving down pixel-to-insight latency and delivering end-to-end

Qualifications

• Experience bridging core platform teams and field teams (FDE, Solutions Engineering).
• Ability to translate operational rules into system workflows and product requirements.
• Strong background in geospatial intelligence, satellite tasking, or related defense tech.

Responsibilities

• Define how config-driven logic translates to sensor/collection decisions and multi-constellation logic.
• Identify recurring customer integration patterns; turn them into reusable platform features.
• Translate defense rules into dynamic tasking strategy designs to reduce latency.
• Consolidate inputs into a prioritized D&I Tasking Solutions roadmap.
• Collaborate with PMs to ensure tasking and delivery needs are represented in the roadmap.
• Work with compliance and security to adhere to export controls and privacy standards.
