Job summary

Planet seeks a Senior Product Manager for Defense & Intelligence Tasking Solutions to bridge our core Tasking platform with defense offerings. You’ll own Tasking Strategy Engine and Tip-and-Cue, translating mission rules into satellite collection while shaping platform impact across Constellation Services and RTI.

Work closely with Forward Deployed Engineers to convert field integration patterns into reusable platform features, accelerating delivery in high-consequence environments.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of technical product management bridging platform and field teams.
• Strong understanding of tasking, scheduling, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Ability to translate mission logic into system workflows and product requirements.

Responsibilities

• Define how config-driven logic translates to sensor/collection decisions.
• Collaborate with field engineers to generalize recurring integration patterns.
• Convert defense business rules into dynamic tasking designs.
• Develop a prioritized D&I Tasking Solutions roadmap.
• Coordinate with PMs to align tasking, capacity, and low-latency delivery.
• Work with compliance to satisfy export control and privacy standards.
• Collaborate with related PMs to deliver end-to-end user experiences.
