Job summary

Pearson seeks a senior product manager/strategist to guide content standards and production workflows, aligning taxonomy, metadata, and AI-enabled content generation with business outcomes and learner needs.

You will work closely with content BU teams, model taxonomies, and improve the end-to-end content production path, delivering practical training and community-driven best practices. This role blends hands-on PM work with coaching across senior staff.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of product management experience in content/publishing domains.
• Hands-on ownership of content standards work: taxonomy and metadata design, quality frameworks, and structured content.
• Experience with authoring, production, and delivery platforms (CMS, DAM, LCMS, XML-based systems).
• Built and shipped substantive content systems as owning PM, including with AI tooling, in last 12–18 months.
• Experience in empowered product team models focusing on outcomes over deliverables.
• Proven record of continuous discovery and translating findings into outcomes.
• Experience coaching other PMs and leaders without alienating them.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical and senior audiences.
• Ability to balance hands-on execution with coaching.
• Background as a content architect or publishing operations lead.

Responsibilities

• Build and embed the standards spine in real business-unit work with global data standards.
• Redesign production workflows to reduce handoffs and rework.
• Collaborate with Pearson content leaders on strategy, planning, and craft.
• Guide teams to high-quality plans and artifacts aligned to learner jobs and outcomes.
• Deliver training anchored in real content problems.
• Contribute to content career architecture and community of practice.
• Build AI fluency across content teams with practical, applied methods.
• Identify and prototype automation for manual content tasks and prove value.
• Incorporate evaluation, telemetry, and human-in-the-loop design for AI-assisted content generation and QA.
• Maintain a clear view on where AI adds value in content workflows.
