Job summary

Pearson, the world’s lifelong learning company, is seeking a senior product manager/strategist to lead content standards and AI-enabled workflows across content units. You will partner with BU leaders to rebuild production processes, design taxonomies, and guide craft from MRDs to PRDs, delivering measurable quality gains.

You’ll coach other PMs, drive continuous discovery, and build an operational model that scales across Pearson’s content platforms and editorial teams.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of product management experience in content, publishing, or content platform domains with technical depth.
• Hands-on ownership of content standards work: taxonomy and metadata design, quality frameworks, structured content, and measurement.
• Direct experience with authoring, production, and delivery platforms (CMS, DAM, LCMS, XML-based systems), including at least one consolidation or migration you personally helped deliver.
• Built and shipped substantive content systems work as owning PM, including with current AI tooling, in the last 12–18 months.
• Experience in empowered product team models where outcomes are the unit of ownership, with value-centric planning processes (QBRs, roadmaps).
• Proven track record in continuous discovery (generative and evaluative) translating insights into content outcomes.
• Experience coaching other PMs and leaders, even senior ones, without alienating them.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical and senior business audiences.

Responsibilities

• Embed the content standards spine into real business unit work with global quality data and metadata accuracy targets.
• Redesign and shorten production workflows, removing handoffs and rework.
• Partner with content leaders to strategy, planning, and craft, including challenging stakeholders, by doing the work alongside them.
• Guide teams to high‑quality plans and content strategy traceable to learner jobs and business outcomes (MRDs to PRDs).
• Design and deliver training anchored in Pearson’s content problems rather than generic curricula.
• Contribute to content job family and career architecture; grow a useful community of practice.
• Build AI fluency across the content talent base and identify tasks worth automating.
